Crispy, sweet Baked Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips are so easy to make, you’ll make them your new go-to snack every day of the week. They are made from store-bought tortilla chips and baked until crispy.
Ingredients
- Small soft four tortillas
- Butter
- Granulated sugar
- Cinnamon
Let’s Make the Chips?
- Stack tortillas on top of each other.
- Cut them into eights.
- Place the cut-up tortillas into a large zip-top bag, separating them so they don’t stick together.
- Pour in melted butter, seal the bag, and gently shake until all of the tortillas are covered with melted butter.
- In a flat bowl mix sugar and cinnamon.
- Dredge both sides of each tortilla in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Place the tortillas, so they are not touching, on a parchment paper-covered cookie sheet with a rack on top. If you don’t have a rack, simply place them on the parchment paper.
- Bake for 10 minutes, flip them over, and bake for another 7-9 minutes or until crispy. If they are not crispy enough, continue baking, while watching them closely until they are crispy.

- 4 small soft flour tortillas
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Stack tortillas on top of each other.
- Using kitchen shears, cut them in half, then into quarters, and then into eights. Place the cut-up tortillas into a large bowl, separating them so they don't stick together.
- Pour in melted butter and gently toss so that the butter covers all pieces.
- Whisk together the cinnamon and sugar.
- Pour the cinnamon sugar over the buttered tortillas.
- Use your hand to toss them to cover each piece with cinnamon sugar.
- Place the tortillas on a parchment paper-covered cookie sheet so they are not touching.
- Bake for 10 minutes, flip them over, and bake for another 7-10 minutes or until crispy. *Watch them carefully so that they do not burn.
- The chips will become even crisper once they have cooled.
- Cool for 30 minutes at room temperature before serving.
Notes
- Evenly coat the tortillas: Be sure each tortilla piece is covered in butter and cinnamon sugar.
- Size matters: Stacking and cutting the tortillas with scissors is the best way to ensure that are all the same size.
- Monitor baking time closely: Keep a close eye on the chips in the oven to prevent them from burning. Since ovens can vary in temperature, start checking on the chips a few minutes before the recommended baking time to ensure they reach the desired level of crispiness without becoming too dark. *Note: the chips will become very crispy after cooking and cooling.
