Bold, zesty, buttery, crunchy, salty party mix is a fan favorite at our house. It’s my bolder zestier version of a classic party mix snack that really gets the party started.

Don’t be surprised when you see everyone eating it by the handful!

What Makes This Party Mix So Good?

First, it’s seriously addicting! It’s great for any party or get-together. You can make large batches of it a week ahead of time…but be careful, you’ll be tempted to munch on it all day long!

Ingredients

Photo of the ingredients in party mix

Chex Cereal – Use the wheat, rice, and corn flavors.

Gold Fish Crackers – You can actually use any type of small cheese cracker.

Small Pretzels – You can use round or square pretzels.

Dry Roasted Peanuts (salted) – I recommend using salted dry roasted nuts. I’ve tried other types of nuts but I like the deep flavor of the dry roasted peanuts best.

Worcestershire Sauce – This is what gives this recipe the bold and zesty flavors.

Butter – I prefer to use salted butter

Let’s Make The Bold and Zesty Party Mix

  1. Place the cereals, cheese crackers, pretzels, and peanuts into a large bowl.
  2. Melt butter, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, and garlic powder in the microwave.
  3. Slowly pour the hot butter sauce over the dry ingredient.
  4. Gently mix the ingredients with a spatula or your hands. I prefer to use my hands.
  5. Pour the mixture between two cookies sheets.
  6. Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Cool the baked mix completely before eating.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this recipe bold and zesty?

The traditional Chex Cereal Mix uses only 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce. To get the extra zesty and bold flavor, I use 1/3 cup of Worcestershire Sauce.

What is Worcestershire Sauce made of?

It’s a fermented vinegar-based sauce with molasses, anchovies, garlic, onion, and other spices. It has a tangy and deep bold taste.

How long will this mix last?

Store this mix in an airtight container on the countertop and it will last about a week and a half.

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips

  • Make sure you cool the baked mix completely before adding it to an airtight container.
  • Try other ingredients like cashews, bagel chips, Cheerios, Cheese-It crackers.
  • Add hot sauce, honey, and cinnamon to the melted butter for a sweet and salt flavor.
  • This recipe makes a fantastic party favor or holiday gift. Place a couple of cups of mix into a large mason jar or ziptop bag and tie a ribbon around it.
