I’m Laura, the Krazy Kitchen Mom. I create recipes using fresh food and packaged ingredients for easy cooking.
I was inspired to start this blog by my daughter back in January 2015. At that time, it was just a hobby but it has quickly become much more than that and it’s growing every day. In retrospect, this blog takes me back, to not only my love of food but to my love of media. I graduated many years ago with a Bachelors’s degree in Communication with an emphasis on Radio, TV, and Film. I worked in heavy industry, using my talents and degree for the first 7 years after graduating from college where I wrote, directed, filmed and edited technical training programs for the aerospace and environmental controls industries. Who knew that after many years, I would come full circle, using my media talents again, especially editing video?
Fast forward to now – I live in South Florida with my husband Vince. I am a healthcare professional by day and an avid blogger by night and weekend. I travel a lot for my business, but on the weekends you can find me with my side-kick, Vince, in the kitchen or at some type of food event. Speaking of my husband, Vince and I were married in 1981 after meeting in high school and attending college together. In my unbiased opinion, he is the best friend, husband, and father in the world. I might add that he’s a pretty darn good sous chef and cooking helper too!
Vince and I are fortunate to have three wonderful children (we still call them the kids although they are adults now) – our daughter Taylor and twins Steve and Greg are my biggest foodie fans and the fortunate benefactors of all those goodies. And we’ve “adopted” another “kid” in the family and that’s Greg’s wife, Alyson. She’s part of the “foodie bunch” too. The best times we have are when we are all together; there is never a dull moment and the laughing is abundant.
What you will find on this blog are everyday recipes that you can make for your family and friends. I use a combination of fresh food and items you can buy in the grocery store. I believe that everyone should be able to make an amazing meal using a combination of real-life food and convenience food items. Just because life is “krazy” busy doesn’t mean you need to stress about cooking.
That’s the toughest question ever! I like ANYTHING lemon flavored. I actually prefer salty over sweet and love Indian, Mexican, Italian, and Greek cuisines.
Anyone who knows me knows I love wine…both red and white. I also drink a ton of water. I go in spirts with coffee – I’m either all in and drink it every day or I’m in one of my “no coffee” periods…no in between.
That’s easy…I can’t live without my Vitamix mixer, Ninja Foodie Grill, and my Kitchen Aid Mixer.
I love a medium-sized whisk, a bench scraper, and my Wosthof Knives.
I am a morning person all the way. I usually get up very early and enjoy the quietness of the early hours. Breakfast is also my favorite meal of the day and I enjoy making a fantastic breakfast.
