My Mom used to make a version of this recipe but with bologna. I use ham in my recipe and it’s perfect for leftover ham.
Serving Ideas
- I like to serve this as an appetizer with salty crackers.
- Ham salad is great in tea sandwiches or for a packed lunch sandwich.
- Eat it for breakfast and serve it with scrambled eggs or hard-boiled eggs.
- Veg it up! Add chopped celery, chopped carrots, and chopped onion.
Ingredients
My recipe uses 3 simple ingredients. The only thing Mom used differently was substituting bologna for the ham. She called it “bologna and pickle”.
- Ham
- Pickles/pickle juice
- Mayonnaise
Let’s Make Mom’s Ham Salad
Making this ham salad is as easy as the ingredients.
- Place the ham and pickles into a food processor and pulse until chopped into small pieces.
- Add the mayonnaise and stir.
- Cut the crust off whole wheat bread to make tea sandwiches or cover and refrigerate.
