Deli meats and cheeses made into a charcuterie wreath with twinkling lights

What you will need to make the Holiday Table Something Special with this Holiday Charcuterie Wreath

  • 2 large handfuls of fresh rosemary sprigs.
  • Assorted deli meats – I use capicola, mortadella, and salami.
  • Assorted cheeses: I use a block of Gouda and a small block of cheddar.
  • Red or black grapes.
  • Dried or candied fruit – our favorite dried fruit for charcuterie is dried and candied orange slices cut into quarters.
  • Fresh pomegranate arils (seeds) and sugar cranberries.

Let’s Make the Charcuterie Wreath

  1. Take 2 handfuls of rosemary and binder-clip them together at the stem to make a long piece.
  2. Fill a bowl 1/2 way with water and place rosemary in a circle in the bowl.
  3. Place a smaller bowl on top of the rosemary to keep it submerged in the water in a circle.
  4. Let the rosemary sit in the water on the countertop for 2-3 hours.
  5. Remove the rosemary from the water, pat it dry with a few paper towels, and place the piece in a circle on a large platter.
  6. Remove the binder clips and fluff the rosemary so it’s in a perfect wreath shape.
Steps showing how to bend fresh rosemary for the charcuterie wreath
  1. Fold the deli meat slices into quarters and arrange them around the wreath on top of the rosemary.
  2. Place small groups of grapes around the wreath.
  3. Use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut some of the cheese into a star shape. Cube the other cheese and arrange it on the wreath.
  4. Garnish with pomegranate arils (seeds) and sugar cranberries.
  5. Add twinkle lights for a festive holiday presentation.

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips

  • I use a large plate charger as the platter for the charcuterie. It’s larger than a dinner plate and makes a wonderful presentation.
  • Of course, you should use any types of meats, cheese, fruits, nuts, and garnishes that you like. Just be sure it adds colorful items to show off the platter
  • This wreath can be made a few hours ahead of time. Store it in the refrigerator wrapped in plastic wrap. Remove it from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before serving.
  • Decorate the holiday table with battery-powered twinkle lights, and everyone will know that you took the extra time and effort to make the holiday special.
