Calling all my cheese lovers! This fall-inspired cheese fondue is becoming a family favorite at our house. Serve it with apples, bread, and pretzel sticks for the perfect appetizer.
Why We Love This Recipe
I grew up eating fondue. My Mom made it during the holidays and it always brings bake fond memories. In fact, it was one of the highlight meals Vince and I had on our honeymoon. I love the silkiness of the nutty gruyere cheese with all of the flavors and textures of different dippers.
It’s easy and fun and it’s family-friendly. We’ve replaced the traditional white wine that is in most cheese fondue for apple cider. The apple cider still provides the background tart flavor so it’s a great substitute for wine.
Try in for your next family game night – It will certainly be a big hit.

Use any types of dippers you like. For this recipe, we prefer fall fruit, bread (of course), and large pretzel rods.
Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
- While apple cider is best stored in the refridgerator, I recommed taking the amount needed out of the refrigerator and starting with room temperature cider.
- You can easily subtitue hard cider or white wine for the apple cider.
