SMALL JAR OF BOURBON BUTTER SAUCE ON A BLUE AND WHITE CLOTH

This sauce is a beautiful golden color; it’s buttery and melts in your mouth. It has a bourbon-forward taste. The first time you try this recipe, cut the amount of bourbon in half, taste the sauce, and add the remaining if desired. Of course, we like ours with a bold bourbon buttery flavor.

What My Taste-Testers Say About This Sauce

  • “I could literally drink the entire jar.”
  • “Best sauce I’ve ever tasted”
  • “Don’t leave me alone with this, because it will be gone in minutes.”
  • “Can you make this all the time?”

Ingredients

Ingredient is bourbon butter sauce

Bourbon – No special brand is needed for this recipe; use any type of bourbon or whiskey that you have on hand.

Honey – I recommend using clover honey for this recipe. Clover honey is the most common type of honey and is found in all grocery stores.

Let’s Make Sweet Bourbon Butter Sauce

  1. Melt butter in a small pot on medium heat.
  2. Stir in honey and nutmeg.
  3. Whisk in 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar at a time and mix until smooth.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and mix in the bourbon.

  • To make a smaller batch of this recipe, simply cut the ingredients in half.
  • This sauce is bourbon forward. The first time you make it, start with 1/2 the bourbon, taste, and add the remaining if desired.
  • Store the sauce in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to six days. Let it come to room temperature before using.
