Peach and Gouda Skewers are small bites of fresh juicy peach skewered with a chunk of light, mild gouda cheese, drizzled with orange infused olive oil and honey.
It’s that time of year when all I want to eat are small bites of delicious little appetizers. I think it’s because they remind me of parties and the holidays. This year, instead of a traditional cheese and fruit tray, I’m going to pair fruit with specific cheese and serve them on skewers inspired by these Peach and Gouda Skewers.
I recently received a gift box from Sutter Buttes with the most amazing blood orange infused olive oil. The moment I took the cap off and took a big sniff, the robust orange aroma hit me – and YES – I loved it. I knew it would be the perfect marriage, along with some honey to drizzle on my new favorite fruit and cheese snack. While this olive oil goes so well with the peaches and the light mellow taste of the gouda cheese, I imagine that any type of citrus or flowery infused olive oil would also go well…or maybe just a drizzle of lemon and honey.
It’s easy and fun to experiment with small bites. If you like these, you’ll also like:
