Why We Love These Cookies

  1. They are buttery and melt in your mouth.
  2. Delisious hint of orange flavor from the orange zest and juice.
  3. Slightly crispy edges with a soft center.

Ingredients

Ingredients to make mimosa butter cookies

Let’s Make Mimosa Butter Cookies

  1. Add butter, powdered sugar, orange zest, and salt to a mixing bowl and mix until creamy.
  2. Add Prosecco and continue mixing on low speed. 
  3. Add orange juice and continue mixing on low speed. 
  4. Add flour and mix on low for 1 minute, increase speed to medium and mix until fully combined. 
  5. Remove half of the cookie dough mixture and set it aside. 
  6. Add a few drops of orange food coloring to the mixing bowl with half of the dough and mix or stir until the dough turns orange. 
  7. Prepare a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a large star tip. 
  8. Transfer the orange dough and the non-colored dough to the piping bag side by side. 
  9. Pipe the dough in a circle to form the cookies. 
  10. Add sprinkles and bake at 350° for 11-14 minutes.

  • To make drop cookies, skip steps 8-10 above and simply form cookies with a teaspoon or a cookie scoop. 
  • These cookies can also be used with a cookie press. 
  • Store cookies in an airtight container on the counter for up to 5 days.

Ingredients 

  • 2-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter – softened at room temperature
  • 1-1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • zest of 2 oranges
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/4 cup Prosecco or champagne
