This is a quick version of the classic Korean bulgogi served over rice. It’s perfect for a quick weeknight meal for the entire family.

Why We Love This Recipe

Korean Beef is a mouthwatering, simple recipe perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. It’s made with ground beef and is full of flavor.

It’s great for meal prep so it’s ready to heat and eat anytime.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp minced or chopped garlic
  • ¼ cup + 2tbsp light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup + 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon finely grated or chopped ginger (substitute: 1 teaspoon ground ginger)
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Cooked white or brown rice
  • Garnishes – green onions and shredded carrots

Let’s Make Korean Beef

  1. Add ground beef and garlic to a large skillet and brown.
  2. Drain any excess liquid.
  3. Mix brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl.
  4. Pour soy mixture over cooked beef and garlic and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve over white or brown rice.
  6. Garnish with shredded carrots and green onions.

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips

  • To make this a low-carb meal, substitute cauliflower rice for regular rice.
  • We like to serve this with a side of steamed broccoli.
