What do Minnesota, a Lebanese restaurant and Paris have in common? Everything with this Minnesota Hot Dish Recipe.
Now that I have your attention, it’s true that all of these things have the Minnesota Hot Dish Recipe in common. I learned about this recipe while I was visiting Paris and attending a friend’s wedding and wedding events. One evening the bride and groom hosted everyone at a wonderful little Lebanese restaurant in the heart of the Latin Quarter in Paris. I was sitting next to one of the brides maids and we were discussing family favorite comfort foods. She’s from Minnesota and proclaimed that hot dish is popular in Minnesota and that it’s an all time favorite of her family.
I can’t believe that I had never heard of “hot dish” so she promised to send me the recipe and now I’m sharing it with you. But before I decided to do that, I needed to do a little more research on Minnesota Hot Dish Recipe. I learned that it really refers to any hot casserole made with meat and vegetables. I also learned that if you are from Minnesota or North Dakota you certainly have had many hot dish recipes in church basements, at family gatherings, at school meeting, etc. It is the traditional family comfort food.
I’m sharing Christy’s family recipe, but from what I learned you can mix the ingredients and make your own family version of Minnesota Hot Dish.
