Waldorf Salad

This all-American classic fruit salad is full of cold crispy apples, grapes, and nuts tossed in a sweet and tangy mayonnaise sauce.

Ingredients 

Salad

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 cup grapes
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • 1/3 cup walnuts

Dressing

  • ½ cup mayonnaise1 tbsp granulated sugar1 tbsp apple cider vinegar¼ teaspoon celery seedsSalt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Dice apples into bite-sized piecesSlice grapes in half or in quarters.
  • Roughly chop the walnuts.
  • Place the apples, grapes, walnuts, and dried cranberries in a large dish.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the dressing ingredients.
  • Pour the dressing ingredients over the apple, and grape mixture, and fold until all the fruit and nuts are covered with the creamy sauce.
  • Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

Additions:
  • Add diced chicken breast or rotisserie chicken for a complete meal
  • Use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise for a lower-calorie salad.
  • Add mini marshmallows or shredded sweetened coconut for a sweeter salad
  • Use pears instead of apples.
