Equipment

  • Instant Pot or another type of Pressure Cooker
  • A slotted spoon to remove the eggs
  • Bowl of ice water to set the eggs in once they are removed from the pressure cooker

Ingredients 

  • eggs
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Place 1 cup of water into the inner pot of the cooker.
  • Add a trivet for the eggs to sit on.
  • Add 1 cup of water which is used to steam the eggs.
  • Set the eggs on the trivet leaving a small bit of space between each eggs.
  • Once the pressure cooker comes to temperature it will begin the 5-minute countdown.
  • If the pressure cooker has an egg function, use it. If it does not, set it to "manual" and select 5 minutes with manual release.
  • While the eggs are cooking add ice and water to a large bowl. .
  • When the timer goes off, manually release the steam.
  • Use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs to the ice water.
  • Allow them to sit in the water for 5 minutes. Remove from the water and peel.

Notes

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
  • Be sure that the inner pot is inside the pressure cooker, before adding the water.
  • Also make sure that the sealing ring is affixed tightly on the lid.
  • Transfer the eggs to the ice water bath right after cooking which stops the cooking process.
  • Peel the eggs right after they sit in the ice water for 5 minutes.
