Add salt.
Bring the water to a gentle boil.
Using a slotted spoon, lower the egg(s) into the boiling water.
Simmer the egg(s) for exactly 5 minutes.
Remove the eggs with the slotted spoon and place them in a bowl filled with ice water.
Let them sit in the ice water for 5-10 minutes.
When the eggs are cool enough to handle, carefully crack the shell and peel the egg(s).
