Ingredients 

  • 3 eggs
  • water
  • salt

Instructions

  • Fill a medium pot with cool water.
  • Add salt.
  • Bring the water to a gentle boil.
  • Using a slotted spoon, lower the egg(s) into the boiling water.
  • Simmer the egg(s) for exactly 5 minutes.
  • Remove the eggs with the slotted spoon and place them in a bowl filled with ice water.
  • Let them sit in the ice water for 5-10 minutes.
  • When the eggs are cool enough to handle, carefully crack the shell and peel the egg(s).

Notes

How to peel soft-boiled eggs:
Peeling soft-boiled eggs can be tricky. Make sure they are cool enough to handle. Roll the egg on the counter pressing slightly pressing on it to crack the shell. 
Carefully peel back the shell and the internal membrane.
