Toll House Cookie Bars

Ingredients 

  • 2-1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 bag mini chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coarse sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • Line a 9x11 baking dish or pan with parchment paper.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl.
  • Add eggs and beat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add flour mixture, ¼ cup at a time, and beat until thoroughly combined.
  • Add chocolate chips and pecans.
  • Spread into prepared pan.
  • Drizzle with coarse sea salt.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Cool for 30 minutes before slicing.

  • For clean-cut cookie bars, cool completely, carefully transfer the entire baked block of bars from the baking pan to a cutting board, and cut with a large sharp knife.
