London Broil Beef Crostini

An impressive appetizer for the holidays or any time of the year. Tender London Broil slices with savory fig jam, and brie cheese on small crunch toast.

Ingredients 

  • 1 French baguette
  • 12 slices London Broil - sliced thin
  • 1 wedge Brie cheese
  • 20 small fresh thyme sprigs

Instructions

Toast Crostini

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Slice a French baguette and lay the slices on a parchment-paper-covered cookie sheet or a cookie sheet with a wire rack.
  • Brush each piece with a small amount of olive oil or melted butter.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they start to turn light brown.
  • Remove the crostini from the oven and let them cool for 3 minutes.

Assembly

  • Spread a thin layer of jam on each piece of crostini.
  • Add a small slice of brie on top of the jam.
  • Tear a piece of beef from a slice and place it on top of the cheese.
  • Garnish with fresh thyme.

Notes

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
  • I highly recommend ordering deli meats and cheeses by the number of slices you need rather than by the pound. That way you get what you need for the recipe and you are not paying for an extra amount that you may not use.
  • Keep the beef slices at room temperature before assembling the crostini.
  • Freeze the wrapped brie cheese for 5 minutes to make it easier to slice. As it becomes room temperature, it will turn very soft and creamy.
  • Fresh herbs are a game-changer! Adding fresh herbs to any appetizer makes it taste fresh and look impressive.
