Apple Cider Cheese Fondue

We've replaced the traditional white wine that is in most cheese fondue for apple cider. The apple cider still provides the background tart flavor so it's a great substitute for wine.

Equipment

  • Cheese grater or food processor
  • Fondue Pot with dipper skewers
  • Fork

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese
  • 3/4 cup apple cider - room temperature
  • 1 tbsp corn starch

Instructions

  • Warm the pot of the fondue pot by turning it on low or lighting a low flame.
  • Grate the cheeses.
  • Add the apple cider and let it warm for 2-3 minutes.
  • Turn the heat to medium and stir in corn starch.
  • Add cheese 1/4 cup at a time stirring with a whisk or a fork.
  • Get ready to dip and enjoy!

Notes

Dippers:
Use any type of dippers you like. For this recipe, we prefer fall fruit, bread, and large pretzel rods.
