Frequently Asked Questions

What color is Empress Gin?

It’s a very pretty purple color.

What does Empress Gin taste like?

It tastes smoother than regular gin. It is still made from juniper berries like all gin, but it also has some botanicals that give it a slightly floral flavor.

Do all gin and tonic cocktails have Cointreau in them?

No, I added the Cointreau to balance the floral flavor with citrus. Cointreau is an orange-flavored liqueur.

How do you make the sugar for the rim purple?

I use purple decorating sugar. The same kind of sugar you use for decorating cookies and cakes.

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips

  • If you are having friends and family over for a Halloween party, you can make this cocktail in a large pitcher and serve it in fun Halloween-themed glasses.
  • To make a large pitcher, simply add all of the ingredients except the ice and tonic water. Store in the refrigerator and serve over ice.
  • Have fun with decorating and garnishing cocktails. For this drink, I bought plastic spiders and threaded them on straws. The larger spider is also a plastic decoration.
  • Enjoy and always drink responsibly.
