This recipe is a welcome surprise! A healthier version of creamy dreamy chocolate mousse made with two main ingredients.
Something for Everyone
This creamy smooth rich chocolate mousse is my new “go-to” recipe for everyone. Chocolate lovers won’t believe they’re eating tofu and your vegan, dairy-free, and nut-free friends and family will be thrilled with the ingredients and the flavor.
Simple Ingredients
It takes less than three minutes and a couple of basic ingredients to make a chocolate mousse that your friends and family will rave about for a long time.
Silken Tofu
You can buy silken tofu in most grocery stores in the produce department. It’s a good source of protein and low in calories. It has a creamy smooth texture, is dairy-free, and is a great substitute for creamy desserts like pudding and mousse. It absorbs flavors amazingly well so most people won’t even know they are eating something healthy.
Let’s Make Silken Tofu Chocolate Mouse
- Place chocolate chips into a microwave dish and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and microwave for another 30 seconds – continue with increments of 30 seconds until melted. Mine took 90 seconds.
- Place tofu, vanilla extract, and cinnamon into a blender.
- Add melted chocolate chips and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the creamy smooth mousse into dessert dishes and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.
Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
- Make it fun and fancy! For your non-dairy-free friends and family, top the mousse with whipped cream.
- Store the mousse in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Experiment with flavors – add 1 teaspoon of instant coffee for a mocha flavor, use almond extract instead of vanilla for a hint of nuttiness.
