It’s called party mix for a reason! It’s a party in your mouth! It’s sweet and salty and a little bit savory from the pumpkin pie spice.

Why We Love This Treat

We love the mix of sweet and salty paired with a light pumpkin pie flavor. Kids and adults will both like this easy snack recipe. It’s perfect for parties and family get together during the fall season.

It’s also a flexible recipe where you can add any type of candies you’d like. You might want to make a double batch because experience tells me that it will be gone in minutes.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

dry ingredients needed for pumpkin pie spice party mix
  • Honey Nut Cheerios for a sweet nutty taste without using nuts.
  • Rice Chex Cereal because you can’t have a true party mix without Chex cereal.
  • Small Pretzel Squares or Sticks for that extra salty flavor.
  • Candy Corn for the star of the show. I also use Candy Corn Pumpkins.

Spice Mix Ingredients

Wet ingredients needed to make pumpkin pie spice party mix
  • Butter – I prefer to use salted butter for this recipe
  • Brown Sugar
  • White Sugar
  • Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • Cayenne Pepper – Just a pinch
  • Salt

Let’s Make Pumpkin Pie Spice Party Mix

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
  2. Place the spice mix ingredients into a microwave-safe dish or glass measuring cup and microwave for 45 seconds until melted.
  3. Add all of the dry ingredients except the candy corn (or other candy you may choose to use) into a large mixing bowl.
  4. Pour the melted spice mix over the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly ensuring that all of the liquid is mixed with the dry ingredients.
  5. Transfer the party mix to a large cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes, stirring the mix at the 7-minute mark.
  6. Remove from the oven, let the party mix cool completely and add the candy corn.

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips

  • Get creative with this recipe and add any type of candy and mix-ins you like. This is a perfect vessel for leftover Halloween candy pieces.
  • Be sure to let the dry ingredients cool completely before adding any candy to the mix.
  • This can be stored in an airtight container, on the countertop, or in the pantry, for up to one week. I store mine in a very large glass jar with an airtight seal.
