As I was making these on a regular Monday night (yes they are that easy that you can whip them up anytime) my house filled with memories of the holidays. And these just scream holidays to me.
As a kid, we always had pigs in a blanket for holiday appetizers. They were a labor of love for my Mom because she always made her own pie crust to wrap them in. But with a store-bought puff pastry and freezer breakfast sausage, there is no labor at all. But they are still made with all that love.

Ingredients
- 1 box of puff pastry sheets
- 2 boxes (10 per box) frozen breakfast sausage – thawed
- 1 egg
- 1 TBS water
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400°
- Mix egg and water together – set aside.
- Cut sausages in half.
- Unroll pastry sheets and cut in half lengthwise and then 10 strips on each side.
- Roll sausages in pastry strips.
- Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 25 minutes
