Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ½ green pepper – diced
- ½ onion – diced
- ¾ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup diced banana peppers
- 1 teaspoon each of salt and pepper
- Banana peppers for garnish when serving
Let’s Make the Perfect Sloppy Joe’s
- Dice onion and pepper into small pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onions and peppers, and cook on medium for 4 minutes.
- Add ground beef and cook until fully cooked.
- Pour off any excess grease and return the skillet to the stovetop.
- Add ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, apple cider vinegar, diced banana peppers, and salt and pepper.
- Heat on high for 2-3 minutes.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
- Serve on sesame seed buns and garnish with banana peppers.
