The reason I call these Perfect Sloppy Joe’s is because that’s what my son said when I gave him a spoonful as my taste tester.
Sometime there’s nothing better than a homemade Sloppy Joe and a pile of crunchy potato chips; especially today.

Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 diced green pepper
- 1/2 diced onion
- 1/4 cup diced banana peppers
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- banana pepper slices for garnish
- sesame seed buns for serving
Instructions
- Dice onion and pepper into small pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onions and peppers, and cook on medium for 4 minutes.
- Add ground beef and cook until fully cooked.
- Pour off any excess grease and return the skillet to the stovetop.
- Add ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, apple cider vinegar, diced banana peppers, and salt and pepper.
- Heat on high for 2-3 minutes.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
- Serve on sesame seed buns and garnish with banana peppers.
Notes
Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
- Serve on soft sesame seed hamburger buns with pickles and chips on the side.
- Leftovers last up to 1 week in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- The recipe can be frozen in an airtight container for 3 months.
