Ingredients
Cake
- 2 cups flour
- 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cups sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- ¼ cup plus 2 tbsp orange juice
- ¼ cup whole milk
- ½ cup softened butter
- 1 teaspoon orange peel spice
- Zest from 1 orange
Glaze
- 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp orange juice
- Zest from one large orange
- 2-3 drops orange food coloring
Let’s Make Orange Loaf Cake
Cake
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl and set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar with a hand mixer or in a stand mixer.
- Add eggs, 1 at a time, and continue mixing
- Slowly add ¼ cup of orange juice, milk, zest, and peel spice, and continue mixing.
- Add flour mixture, 1/3 cup at a time, and continue to mix.
- Spoon the cake mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-55 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Immediately after removing from the oven, brush the top of the loaf with the remaining 2 tbsp of orange juice allowing it to drip down the sides.
- Allow the cake to cool in the loaf pan for 15 minutes.
- Remove from pan and cool completely.
- Cool completely before glazing.

- Combine glaze ingredients with a whisk until smooth.
- Divide the glaze into two bowls.
- Add 2 drops of orange food coloring to one bowl and mix to combine.
- Drizzle the orange glaze on the loaf, wait 5 minutes, and drizzle the cake with the white glaze.
