This is a great time-saver. Marshmallow Buttercream Frosting makes box or bakery cakes taste like they are homemade.
This recipe is all about the Marshmallow Buttercream Frosting. You might wonder why I’m not including the recipe for the cake part of the cupcakes and that’s because I have a helpful hint that might just change the way you make “homemade” cupcakes and cakes and it saves a whole lot of time.
I like to serve cakes and cupcakes at our family gatherings, but truth is that I love to spend more time on the actual main course than I do on the cakes. My secret is to buy a dozen unfrosted cupcakes or an entire unfrosted cake from the bakery at my local market and then make the frosting myself. A dozen unfrosted cupcakes usually cost about $4.00 – $5.00 and are a huge timesaver. I always get raves on my cupcakes but it’s usually the frosting that people really rave about.
This is a really great time, if you’ve volunteered to bring cupcakes to a party or a potluck. But the cakes and make your own frosting and decorations.
