An impressive appetizer for the holidays or any time of the year. Tender London Broil slices with savory fig jam, and brie cheese on small crunch toast.
Super Simple Appetizer
The only cooking needed for this appetizer is to toast bread slices. Then it’s a simple assembly and they are ready to serve.
This is an impressive appetizer that everyone will love. The creamy mellow brie cheese pairs perfectly with the savory fig jam and the beef London Broil Slices.
Ingredients
- London Broil – My shortcut secret for this recipe is to use thinly sliced London Broil from the deli department.
- Brie Cheese – It is perfectly fine to leave the rind on brie cheese. It’s edible and provides a chewy texture and a bit of earthiness to the flavor profile. Feel free to slice it off if you don’t like it.
Let’s Make London Broil Crostini
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Slice a French baguette and lay the slices on a parchment-paper-covered cookie sheet or a cookie sheet with a wire rack.
- Brush each piece with a small amount of olive oil or melted butter.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they start to turn light brown.
- Remove the crostini from the oven and let them cool for 3 minutes.
- Spread a thin layer of jam on each piece of crostini.
- Add a small slice of brie on top of the jam.
- Tear a piece of beef from a slice and place it on top of the cheese.
- Garnish with fresh thyme.
Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
- To reduce waste I highly recommend ordering deli meats and cheeses by the number of slices you need rather than by the pound. That way you get what you need for the recipe and you are not paying for an extra amount that you may not use.
- Keep the beef slices at room temperature before assembling the crostini.
- Freeze the wrapped brie cheese for 5 minutes to make it easier to slice. As it becomes room temperature, it will turn very soft and creamy.
- Fresh herbs are a game-changer! Adding fresh herbs to any appetizer makes it taste fresh and look impressive.

Made these for a holiday gathering and they were a big hit. I used horseradish on the side instead of fig jam. They were so yummy, I had no leftovers. They are now a “go to” appetizer.

I’m happy to hear everyone loved them They are always a big hit here too. And thanks for the tip on the horseradish; that’s a great substitution and I may give it a try.
