It’s easy to turn frozen tater tots into a fan favorite snack on game day with Loaded Tater Tot Kabobs. Smothered in cheese and bacon – you can’t lose!
Let’s face it, game day is a great excuse to splurge a little. Especially when it comes to fun food and snacks. My Loaded Tater Tot Kabobs are always a fan favorite go-to game-day snack.
How to make loaded tater tots
- Cook the tots according to the package directions.
- After cooking, skewer 8 tater tots on to a long wooden kabob stick.
- Lay the skewers side-by-side on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.
- Cover with cheese and bacon bits.
- Bake.
- Drizzle with sour cream or ranch dressing.
- Garnish with fresh cut chives.
krazy kitchen mom tips
- I soak my wooden skewers in water for 2 hours before using them so they do not get too hot and break apart while cooking. Whenever I use wooden skewers, I soak them ahead of time.
- Be sure to cook the tater tots and allow them to cool for 4-5 minutes before skewering them so they do not break apart.
- You can cook the tots plain but I like to toss them with some extra virgin olive oil and 1 TBS of dry ranch salad dressing to give them more flavor.
recipe variation
You can also make these without the kabob skewers. They will look similar to a pan of nachos.
- Lay the tater tots on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.
- Cover them with cheese and bacon bits.
- Bake.
- Top with dollops of sour cream or ranch dressing.
- Garnish with fresh chives.
