Lemon Glazed Funfetti Sugar Cookies are a soft sugar cookie dipped into a tart, sweet lemon glaze and decorated with colorful sprinkles.
Raise your hand if you love cookies. Keep it raised if you love homemade cookies and keep it up if you’ve ever eaten cookies for breakfast. Great – I know I’m in good company now (insert wink).
If I owned a restaurant I would have one or two signature cookies on my dessert menu all the time. So many times, when we are out to eat I just want a little something sweet after a good meal. And while I love great desserts like molten chocolate cake or tiramisu, the truth is most of the time I just want a couple of really good homemade cookies.
This recipe is a basic sugar cookie recipe but what makes it extra special is the lemon glaze. And if you follow a lot of my recipes, you already know I am obsessed with anything and everything lemon. Which is exactly why I dipped these basic sugar cookies into a tart, tangy, sweet lemon glaze.

Lemon Glazed Funfetti Sugar Cookies
Description
Lemon Glazed Funfetti Sugar Cookies are a soft sugar cookie dipped into a tart, sweet lemon glaze and decorated with colorful sprinkles.
Ingredients
Cookies
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter at room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1–1/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Glaze
- 2/3 cup confectioners sugar
- Juice from one large lemon (3–4 TBS)
- 4–6 drops yellow food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- With a hand mixer or in a stand mixer, blend butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla
- Add flour and baking powder.
- Mix until dough forms.
- Using a cookie scoop, scoop dough onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
- Bake for 11-13 minutes.
- Cool completely before glazing.
Glaze
- Using a whisk, mix confectioners sugar and lemon juice until there are no lumps.
Decorating Cookies
- Drizzle cooled cookies with lemon glaze and add sprinkles
