Learn how to make healthy fruit on the bottom yogurt by using fresh berries and Greek yogurt

How to make Fruit on the bottom yogurt

Fruit on the bottom yogurt takes up an entire back wall at my local grocery store and I started thinking about why? Probably because it tastes good and everyone agrees that yogurt is health and heck fruit is too. I used to buy the fruit on the bottle type until I learned how easy it is to make healthy fruit on the bottom yogurt myself. It takes only a few minutes to prepare the fruit sauce and then you simply store it in the refrigerator for up to a week. And here’s a bonus – you can use it as a sauce for ice cream, grilled chicken and even over cake. This little sauce is healthy, sweet, fresh and very versatile.

Description

Make healthy fruit on the bottom yogurt by using fresh berries and Greek yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. 1 pint of berries (I used blueberries for this recipe)
  2. 1 TBS water
  3. 2 TBS honey

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a stovetop pan.
  2. Heat to a boil.
  3. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Use a potato smasher to mash berries (I like to leave this a bit chunky).
