Cottage cheese is a healthy protein-backed dairy product. It’s what I consider a retro ingredient popular with my parents. BUT, blend it into a smooth consistency and it becomes a healthy version of sour cream that can be used for many recipes, sauces, dips, and spreads.

How to Make Blended Cottage Cheese
Place the entire container of cottage cheese into the blender and mix on low for 20 seconds. Turn the blender to high and blend for another 40-60 seconds until the mixture is completely creamy.
Once blended, return the blended mixture to the original container and store it in the refrigerator.
KKM Tips
- Rinse and dry the original cottage cheese container while blending the cottage cheese so that you can transfer the blended cottage cheese back to the original container for storage.
- By storing the blended cottage cheese back in the original container, you will have the expiration date. The blended cottage cheese will last in the refrigerator for as long as identified on the container.
Bonus Recipe – Cottage Cheese Banana Bowl
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup blended cottage cheese
- 1 banana
- 2 tbsp raspberry jam
- 1 tbsp honey
- ¼ cup granola for topping
Assembly
- Slice the banana and place it in a serving dish.
- Mix the cottage cheese, jam, and honey.
- Spoon the mixture over the sliced banana and top with granola.
