Everyone knows the traditional cocktail weenies made with grape jelly and ketchup. Well move over traditional weenies and say hello to hot and spicy cocktail weenies.
For the last couple of years, my daughter in-law’s Mum has been bringing me hot pepper jelly from a local shop near where she lives in Nassau Bahamas. And when I say hot pepper jelly, I’m not talking about the red and green pepper jelly most of us are used to that we buy at our local grocery store. I’m talking ghost pepper jelly made locally in the Bahamas. And when I say these weenies are hot and spicy cocktail weenies, I mean it – ghost pepper hot!
Now don’t worry if you don’t have jars of locally made Bahamian pepper jelly, the red pepper jelly from the grocery store will work just fine and you will get plenty of heat to still call them hot and spicy cocktail weenies. And if it’s not hot enough, you can also use some additional hot sauce.
I love collecting little forks and toothpicks. I order mine on Amazon.
