My Homemade Catalina Salad Dressing recipe is tangy and sweet. It’s an easy dressing to make and it compliments so many different dishes.
If you haven’t made homemade salad dressing, you’re really missing out. The flavors are so much better than store-bought and you control the ingredients. I’m convinced that once you make this dressing, it will be your g0-to sauce for everything. That’s right Homemade Catalina Salad Dressing is so much more than just a salad dressing.
Uses for Catalina Dressing
- First, the obvious – as a salad dressing. I find that iceberg lettuce holds up well to this dressing and it likes to be drenched in it. Try it on a taco salad too – it’s so delicious!
- Use it on a burger instead of Ketchup. It adds a nice tangy bite and you might not even need mustard.
- Catalina dressing goes really well on a pasta salad; especially a pasta salad with an Italian flare.
- It works really well as a marinade for both chicken and steak.
- Try it as a glaze for grilled chicken – it’s one of the best.
What’s the difference between Catalina and French Dressing?
Don’t confuse Catalina dressing and French dressing. French dressing’s base ingredients are oil and vinegar, where the base for Catalina is Ketchup. French dressing is also an orange color while Catalina is this beautiful bold red color you see in my photos.
