Greek baked chicken thighs feature tender, juicy, flavorful chicken thighs marinated in bold Greek seasoning and baked to perfection.

The dish is versatile and can be served with a variety of sides, such as roasted vegetables, a light salad, or even a bed of quinoa or rice. It’s a great option for a quick weeknight dinner or a meal prep staple that brings both flavor and nutrition to your table.

Why We Love This Recipe

  • Marinade: Greek cuisine is known for its vibrant flavors, and this dish typically features a marinade of olive oil, Greek seasoning, and other spices.  The combination creates a deliciously tangy and herbaceous profile that infuses the chicken with deep, satisfying flavors.
  • Juicy and Tender: Chicken thighs are naturally more flavorful and tender than other cuts like breasts. When baked, for the right amount of time at the right temperature, they retain their moisture well, resulting in a juicy texture.
  • Simple Preparation: Despite its impressive flavor, Greek-baked chicken thighs are easy to make. It’s perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp Greek seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/3 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Feta cheese for garnish if desired

How to make Greek Backed Chicken Thighs

Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips

  • Marinate: For the most flavorful and tender chicken, marinate for at least three hours up to overnight.
  • Thighs: I prefer using skinless boneless thighs to make this a healthier option. However, Bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs are ideal for this recipe too. Note that bone-in, skin-on chicken will take longer to cook.
  • Time and Temp: Bake chicken thighs at a high heat until they reach an internal time of 165°. Mine take 22-25 minutes.
  • Resting Time: To retain the juiciness, it’s important to rest the thighs for 10-15 minutes after baking.
