Four Reasons Why We Love This Recipe
- It’s super simple and only takes minutes to make.
- It uses everyday pantry items.
- It’s fluffy, creamy, and not too sweet.
- And look at that extra glossy shine!
Three Ingredients
Let’s Make Easy Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting
- Place chocolate chips into a microwavable bowl.
- Microwave for 30 seconds, stir with a rubber spatula, and microwave for another 30 seconds.
- Fold in sour cream and vanilla extract.
- Mix, using a hand mixer, until smooth and creamy.
Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
- I recommend using semi-sweet mini chocolate chips for this recipe. If you cannot find mini-chocolate chips use the regular size, but make sure they are “semi-sweet”.
- Use an oven mitt or towel when removing the melted frosting from the microwave because the bowl gets very hot in the microwave.
- Use this frosting for cakes, cupcakes, sandwich cookie filling, and cookie frosting.

You know, I am not really sure because I haven’t tried it. But you could use low-fat sour cream if you’d like.
