Top Four Reasons You Will Love This Recipe
- It’s super simple to make.
- It uses store-bought ingredients.
- It has layers of sweet, tart, savory flavors.
- It looks and tastes like it’s from a fancy restaurant.
Ingredients
- Naan Bread – You can use any type of flatbread for this recipe. If you can’t find naan in your grocery store, try using a prepared pizza dough or large pita bread rounds.
- Fresh Blueberries – I recommend using fresh berries whenever you can.
- Boursin Cheese – Boursin cheese is a soft spreadable gourmet cheese that comes in different flavors. I love the garlic and fine herb flavor. It’s sold in most grocery stores in the cheese section.
- Honey
- Black Pepper – Don’t skip the black pepper! It gives this flatbread the right amount of peppery heat.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Cotija cheese – This is a Mexican crumbling cheese that is a bit salty.

- Sprinkle the cotija cheese over the top.
- Add the black pepper.

- Remove it from the oven and drizzle it with honey and the blueberry compote.
- Garnish with microgreens or baby arugula if desired.
- Slice and serve.
Boursin Cheese
- Boursin cheese will stay fresh in the refrigerator for two weeks. I recommend, after opening and using it that you remove it from the original wrap and wrap leftovers tightly in plastic wrap.
- If you are using Boursin cheese as a spread or on a charcuterie platter, don’t let it sit out longer than 4 hours.
- I prefer to buy Boursin cheese when it’s on sale or a two-for-one at my grocery store. You can also get good prices at the big-box food stores. Freeze unopened Boursin, in the original packaging, for up to 5 months. To thaw, set the unopened box in the refrigerator overnight or 8 hours.
Krazy Kitchen Mom Tips
- When using fresh berries, do not cut them on a bamboo board. They will stain the board. I use my bamboo cutting boards for serving.
- The best type of cutting board to use for fresh berries is a thick plastic board. To clean berry stains, simply sprinkle the berry spots with baking soda, wet your finger, and swirl it in the baking soda making a paste. Let it sit for 5 minutes and wipe it off with a wet paper towel and wash the board with soap and water or place it in the dishwasher.
