I love hercot vert beans (fancy word for French green beans) and could eat them for every meal. I like to cook them stove top with cherry tomatoes – these are sweet yellow cherry tomatoes. The beans and the tomatoes plister which brings out fresh and satisfying flavors.
French green beans
1/8 of a cup (small handful) of slivered almonds or chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Salt and pepper
Brown nuts stove top in a skillet to bring out the rich flavor (watch them carefully as nuts can burn quickly).
Place browned nuts in a dish to be used as a garnish for the beans.
Add olive oil to the same skillet and heat on medium. Add green beans and tomatoes and cook for approximately 5-6 minutes. The beans and tomatoes will start to blister and turn brown which is what you want. Remove from pan; salt and pepper to taste.
Top beans/tomatoes with nuts and enjoy!
