Baked beans for breakfast? Why not! 20 Minute Baked Bean Breakfast Skillet is a hearty and satisfying breakfast, perfect for a lazy Saturday or Sunday morning.
We love breakfast skillets, especially on a lazy Saturday or Sunday morning. The 20 Minute Baked Bean Breakfast Skillet has all of the flavors of slow-cooked beans, with hearty knockwurst and sunnyside up eggs so they are perfect for this breakfast skilled. The beans are quick and easy and are made with ketchup, maple syrup, and canned navy beans so they cook in no time.
Here’s a pro-tip for making the perfect sunnyside up egg – turn the heat on medium-low, make sure you use a non-stick pan, and cover the eggs while they are cooking. You can tell when they are done when the whites have set up. I have a clear cover for my egg skillet so I can see when the whites are perfectly cooked.
And if you’ve never had knockwurst, you’re missing out. Knockwurst is a German sausage that is short, plump and made mostly with pork. To me, it tastes a bit like a hot dog but with much more rich in flavor. It stands up perfectly with my baked beans.
